JE3 Review Task 2

Demo Survey

The following pictures shows my Survey in which Animation, Assets, Interactivity and overall question are asked to determine future changes and overall opinions within a group of teens (16-18).

After the results of the Survey remarkable changes will be made to the game.
This changes need to be done for a better performance and a perfect gaming experience.

Overall, the problems with the Demo so far are the controls and textures which are not displayed/executed properly. Even though they are not big problems itself it can change the gameplay and ruin it completely.

Execution in controls:

To resolve problems within controls, the best option is to recreate the ones that do not work properly or resolve the problems.

Animation and Texture Display:

We will have to redesign and prioritize the optimization of the textures.

Also we will have to resolve transitions and frame rate in animations that didn't work properly.

Feeling of the Game:

As gameplay wised the difficulty is automatically settled but it can be changed, either way the game still a bit difficult but that is one of the main points of the game.

Its based on ability, basically the game tests the skill of the player by being difficult.

Purpose of the Demo:

The purpose of the Demo is to determine the opinions from a group of people which play video-games, after the opinions are given and the Survey is done changes will be considered and done.

Audience:

The target audience its between 14-18 year olds, it is based in people who enjoy RPG's and 2D Scroll Games.

Focusing this audience we need to consider the action and story of the game to keep the interest, it has to be quick, interesting and ferocious.

Game Outline:

The game is a 2D Platform RPG based in Medieval Times ( Includes Magic, it is not perfectly settled on real Medieval Times which mean there is Fantasy)

Characters:

The main characters are:
Alaska, A brave warrior that has spiritual links to ancient Shamans from an old civilization.

Rhagnaros: A brave and intelligent Viking who lived with Alaska since they were tiny.

Other characters are:

Misty: You can play with Misty after you encounter her in a secret cave. Misty is a Necromancer that is mysteriously linked with Rhagnaros.

Sketches/Sprites/Concept Arts:

These are some Sprites for the main character and for the main villains in the story:

JE2 Assets for a Video-game Task 1

Assignment 2, Task 1 Assets

The following images are assets for my game idea, Adventures of Alaska

This character is Alaska. This is not a final costume for Alaska, the colors could change.
Even though the colors are not finished, the game is works around Alaska, he is the one who has to save his family and help the King Ytherion, who governs the Reign in where Alaska lives.

This is an example o an enemy, this type of enemy is a wild Therion Koala, they are the most common enemies in the first maps and levels which are Plains and Forests, but they also have a type of "evolution" which makes them suitable for other environments meaning that they will appear in other levels.
They use boomerangs as weapons, they have 2 attack types: 1 Throw Boomerang and dealing normal damage (Throw it as a normal throwing weapon) 2 Throw Boomerang and also comes back dealing true damage.

Dark Goblins are a uncommon enemies in Plains, Forests and Desserts but they are really common and they gang up in Caves and Swamps.
Dark Goblins are classified as Normal Dark Goblins and Boss Dark Goblins, the difference is the weapon they use and how they clothes are, here are the examples.

This is the Boss Dark Goblin and his Weapon.                          This is a Dark Goblin and also his
                                                              small dagger

This is an example of a Helmet for 2 of the 5 classes available, it will be for Warrior and Paladin.
This type of armor is a heavy armor component which builds a strong and tank character.

This is the Narrator of the game, he is called Sir Wesley. He tells you the story while playing the game, also he is the one who gives advice and information of the game, such as new movements combos or tips.
These are 2 type of Rupees, which are the monetary components of the game which allows you to buy different items or power-ups and even allies but the price of these are really high.
Green Rupees have a value of 1 and they are the common ones, but the purple Rupees are rare but they have a value of 10.
They are dropped by Vases or Enemies and also given after each boss defeated

The following vase is what contains Rupees, this is just a type of vase, the game will contain 5 different types which have different rarity and different loots. The common vases can drop just rupees but rare vases can have Power Ups, Scrolls or even powerful Weapons

Depending on how much money and time you are willing to invest you may choose between a console such as PS4 or a Gaming PC.
If you consider yourself a Casual Gamer your best option is a Console, which is cheaper than a PC and also saves more time while gaming.
Depending on what you want to play also helps to pick between PC and Console, games such as MOBA, MMORPG's, RPG's are more common in PC's and games such as Shooters, Multiplayer/Action Adventure, Sing-Karaoke games are more common in Consoles.
For example games like MMO have a better control in PC's but games like FPS's are better controlled in consoles because is easier with a controller.
And if you consider yourself as a hardcore gamer and also you want to invest a lot of time in gaming and play professionally in any type of game the best option is a Gaming PC.
